Is your jewelry made from actual vintage and antique objects?

We use vintage and antique objects as the base to create one original model or prototype of our designs. Once the design is finalized, we cast each piece in 925 Solid Sterling Silver with a Rhodium Finish. The reason we do this is that many of the objects we use in our designs, for example our antique spoons, can become very brittle with age. By casting our designs in Solid Sterling Silver we are able to capture the vintage look of each piece, and also create a more durable and lasting piece of fine jewelry.

 

Is your jewelry made by hand?

Our initial models and prototype are made by hand, and then cast in Solid 925 Sterling Silver. Once cast, each piece is hand finished, polished, and stamped with our signature Little Purple Cow logo to ensure each piece is authenticated and unique.

 

What is Solid 925 Sterling Silver?

Sterling Silver is a precious metal that can be polished into a higher sheen than any other white metals. 925 Sterling Silver is composed of 92.5% (925 parts per thousand) silver and 7.5% copper alloy. The copper increases the silvers hardness and durability. While some jewelry are hollow inside, ours are 100% Solid Sterling Silver throughout. This can be felt by the substantial weight of our pieces.

 

What is Rhodium?

Rhodium is a member of the platinum family of metals and is very durable and hard, with a whitish and silver appearance. When annealed to other metals like Silver, Rhodium produces a bright, shiny and long lasting silver-colored finish. Rhodium provides protection for our Sterling Silver jewelry, to help prevent tarnish and scratches. Our Rhodium finish, however, is not impervious to the effects of everyday wear and tear. Do your Key & Typewriter Pendants include the chain?

Yes, all of our pendants include with them a Sterling Silver chain with a lobster claw clasp.

 

Are your rings adjustable?

Our rings are sized in standard ring sizes. Some of our rings may be slightly adjusted for a more perfect fit, however this should only be done by a qualified jeweler.

 

How can I find my ring sizes?

You can find your ring size several ways by using the attached Ring Sizer.

Are your cuff bracelets adjustable?

Our Baby Cup and Spoonlet Cuffs are one-size fits all. They can be gently squeezed or stretched to fit your wrist size.

 

Can you create a custom design?

Yes. We enjoy helping you turn your own nostalgic treasures into the perfect piece of jewelry. Please see our Custom & Bridal section for more information. [hyperlink] Certain items, where specified may also be engraved to create a personalized piece of jewelry.

 

Do you do engraving?

Yes. You may select to have either of our Spoonlet Cuffs, and the matching Deane Spoon Ring engraved with your initials in your shopping cart at check out for an additional charge. In addition, our Baby Cup Cuff can also be engraved with initials, a full name, a birth date, and/or a birth weight.

 

How long does it take for my order to be shipped?

All orders are processed within 48 hours and generally shipped within 2-4 business days, unless stated otherwise for a particular item.

 

How will I know my order has been shipped?

You will receive a confirmation email from orders@littlepurplecow.com stating that your order has been received. When your order is shipped, you will receive another confirmation email with tracking information from the shipping carrier.

 

What are the shipping options for delivery to the US?

We ship within the US using Standard Ground Shipping with the United States Postal Service. For expedited shipping you may select Federal Express.

 

What is the delivery time within the US?

Orders shipped within the US using Standard Ground Shipping will arrive within 3-5 days of shipping. Orders shipped via Federal Express will arrive the next business day.

 

Do you ship Internationally?

Yes. We currently ship to several countries within the EU, as well as Canada and Australia using UPS as our exclusive carrier to guarantee delivery of all orders. You can select your country from a list when finalizing your order in your shopping car check out. Please see our information on International Shipping & Returns.

 

I can't find my country in the shopping cart check out. Why?

 

There are countries we cannot ship to due to customs regulations against the import of jewelry, precious metals, or gems.
